Car collector Dave Austin stumbled upon a secret trove of rusty 4-wheeled British machines at an estate sale that he couldn’t pass up.  After making an offer to take the lot off the aging owner’s hands, he was told the sale included “the old motorbike stashed away in the back of the school bus”.  NYC Norton was presented with the challenge to remove the weeds, acorns, and rats’ nests from this languishing ’71 Commando, and resuscitate it into something completely functional, beautiful, and fast (but street legal), all while under the scrutiny of the TV cameras.  The result is spectacular.  Certainly one of our favorite builds of all time.  This bike and build to be featured in the upcoming Season 5 of Cafe Racer TV (now known as “Naked Speed”) on February 4, 2015 on Velocity TV.

NYC Norton is doing a very limited run of Commandos inspired by the Naked Speed TV School-Bus Bike.
